A Balaji audition held asked aspirants todress minimally and kiss! There may have been outrage, but no officialcomplaint has been filed, says Dharmesh Tiwari, President, Cine and TelevisionArtists' Association (CINTAA). Hence there will be no action. Censor Boardmember Nandini Sardesai, who feels strongly about the issue, says, I findit in poor taste. Kissing passionately can hardly be the yardstick for judgingacting skills. It is very demeaning to both males and females. It is veryderogatory to the human spirit. But what do actors from tellyland have tosay? Well, while some preferred not to comment, a few others adopted thediplomatic route and of course a handful spoke theirmind...
This isnot done! What about Indian culture? There will be no difference between Indiaand other countries. People should reveal their talent and not theirbodies.
Idon't want to comment onthis.
I wasvery surprised. I don't know how relevant the kissing, wearing minimal clothing is to the show. What was the audition about... were they looking for a goodkisser or a good actor?
I didnt like the idea of such an audition.
You generallywatch TV with your family, so a show like that would get very embarrassing. Call me orthodox, but I at least will not be comfortable.
At firstglance, it does seem perverse. But personally, it is your choice. If youdont like it, then you dont have to do it.
Without knowingthe complete truth, I would not like to comment on it.
: It issimple, if you are comfortable doing it, do it. If not, then don't do it.
In our country, showing sex on television is taboo, but you can show violence and hatred. Maybethe producers wanted to see how far you would go.
I don't want tocomment on this.
: The most important thing is what the subject is all about. Also, ifthe actor is new, then maybe the producers wanted to see how comfortable theactor is doing certain things.
